Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State Announces Increased 75,000 Minimum Wage

Governor Francis Nwifuru has announced a significant increase in the minimum wage for Ebonyi State civil servants to N75,000. This decision follows a review of the country’s economic situation and its impact on the workforce.

The new wage structure includes:

Grade level 2 civil servants receiving the full N75,000 minimum wage

Grade level 3 and above civil servants receiving a N40,000 increment across the board

Implementation begins October 28, 2024.

Additionally, Governor Nwifuru appointed Dr. Obinna Ezenkwa and Barrister Uchenna Otuh as General Managers of Umuoghara Pulverization Plant and Ezzamgbo Pipe Production Factory, respectively. Their expertise is expected to drive growth in these industries.

The Governor urged the appointees to utilize their skills for the state’s benefit and called on stakeholders to support them. This move aims to enhance civil servants’ welfare and morale in Ebonyi State.
