“He’s a Good Man And a Performer” – Tinubu Praises Wike Amid Outrage Over Abuja Land Revocations

President Bola Tinubu has commended Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, referring to him as a “good man” despite widespread criticism over his controversial land revocation policies in Abuja.

Wike’s actions have left thousands of Nigerians homeless, with many accusing him of forcefully taking over lands and reallocating them to his associates through alleged “front companies.” Despite public outrage and calls for Wike’s removal, Tinubu remains firm in his support, stating he will not reduce his cabinet members, including Wike, as he believes they are all performing well.

When questioned about the allegations of land grabbing, Tinubu dismissed concerns, attributing the issues to Nigerians’ reluctance to comply with rules. “He is a good man. Nyesom Wike is a performing minister. Nigerians lack compliance, period,” Tinubu said. He further criticized citizens for not paying ground rent on time and viewing compliance as an inconvenience.

The President’s remarks have sparked further backlash, with many accusing him of ignoring the plight of displaced residents and turning a blind eye to Wike’s alleged abuses of power.

SaharaReporters previously detailed allegations that Wike had seized lands across Abuja and transferred ownership to cronies using companies such as Saravera and Aleed Construction Limited, leaving affected residents in distress.
