The House of Representatives has vowed to investigate an alleged assault incident involving one of its members, Alex Ikwechegh, and an Abuja taxi driver.

Francis Waive, Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business, revealed plans to invite the driver to testify before the ethics and privileges committee.

“In keeping with our commitment to transparency, we will conduct a public hearing, allowing all parties involved to share their accounts,” Waive explained. “This includes the honorable member, the driver, and any witnesses, such as those who made relevant phone calls.”

By taking this step, the House reaffirms its dedication to accountability and fairness.
