House Of Reps Donates ₦705 Million To Support Vulnerable Nigerians During Ramadan

The House of Representatives has donated ₦705 million to support vulnerable Nigerians during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas announced the donation on Monday night during an Iftar dinner hosted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.

The donation represents a 50% salary deduction for six months by members of the House. Abbas emphasized the lawmakers’ commitment to easing economic hardship for the nation’s most vulnerable citizens, particularly during Ramadan.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, who spoke on behalf of President Tinubu, commended the lawmakers for their generosity and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting Nigerians in need. He also urged leaders to prioritize national unity and development over partisan interests.

This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to provide financial relief to struggling Nigerians, especially during the holy month.
