Renowned Nigerian disc jockey, Oluwaforijimi Amu, popularly known as DJ Jimmy Jatt, has shared insights into his battle with chronic kidney disease and his successful kidney transplant.
In a recent appearance on Channels TV’s Rubbin’ Minds with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the 58-year-old revealed that his health challenges began in 2020 when he lost his sight. After undergoing surgery to restore his vision, he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease while pursuing his goal of exploring life outside Nigeria.
Jimmy Jatt explained that he relocated to the U.S. to manage his health, underwent dialysis, and eventually returned to Nigeria for a kidney transplant. Following the procedure, he took time to fully recover, staying out of the public eye while continuing to DJ in America and Europe. He returned to Nigeria in December to resume his career and reconnect with his roots.
