A 32-year-old man, Timileyin Ajayi, has been remanded in police custody for allegedly killing his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Abuja.

According to reports, Timileyin killed Salome during her visit to his home in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. He then dismembered her body and attempted to dispose of her remains.

Timileyin was arrested on January 12 while trying to dispose of Salome’s head. He confessed to the crime, stating that it was not premeditated but rather a result of frustrations from their troubled relationship.

In an interview, Timileyin claimed that he killed Salome because he discovered her infidelity through her phone messages with other men. When asked if he had any regrets, he responded negatively, stating that life is reciprocal and that he had no remorse for his actions.

Salome’s family has demanded justice, expressing their shock and sorrow over the brutal murder. The Police Public Relations Officer for the Nasarawa State Command has assured that justice will be served, stating that the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution once the investigation is concluded.

Timileyin remains in custody at the CID of the Nasarawa State Police Command as investigations continue.
