Davido, the Afrobeats sensation, has finally broken his silence on the rumored rift between him and Tiwa Savage. In a candid interview with ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Davido shed light on the nature of their relationship, describing it as a strong bond akin to siblings.

Davido recalled their past disagreements as minor squabbles, emphasizing that they were once close, even living in the same house. “Me and Tiwa used to stay in the same house. It was like brothers and sisters arguing. It was nothing,” he shared, downplaying any notion of serious conflict.

On a more personal note, Davido expressed his affection and protectiveness towards Tiwa Savage. “I love her, she’s my sister. I will never let anything happen to her,” he declared.

The rumored rift between Davido and Tiwa Savage surfaced in January 2024, when Tiwa Savage wrote a letter to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police. In the letter, she revealed that Davido had sent her a message regarding a post she made about a party with Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first daughter. Tiwa Savage stated that Davido felt mocked by the post and later issued a warning through mutual connections, advising her to “be careful in Lagos.”

Although the two singers unfollowed each other on Instagram, Davido revealed that Tiwa Savage has since reached out to him. While they have not met since the incident, Davido left the door open for a potential reconciliation in the future.
