Kogi Central lawmaker Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has issued a bold declaration, promising to release evidence to back her explosive sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, April 3, 2025, the embattled senator reaffirmed her claims that her suspension from the Senate was politically motivated, rooted in her rejection of Akpabio’s alleged repeated advances.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was suspended for six months following a heated protest during a Senate plenary over seating arrangements, stated that her ordeal began when she refused to yield to Akpabio’s alleged inappropriate conduct.
Despite public pressure, she has yet to release any concrete proof—until now.
“At the right time and at the right space, I will present the evidence that I have,” she said firmly when asked if she could substantiate her allegations.
The senator’s vow signals a potential turning point in a saga that has shaken Nigeria’s political landscape. Calls for transparency and accountability have grown louder, as many await what could be a career-defining revelation in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Akpoti-Uduaghan also addressed the failed petition to recall her from office, praising INEC for ultimately dismissing it—but criticizing the delay.
She argued that the petition should have been rejected earlier, citing the lack of credible information from the petitioners.
“I’m a lawyer. I’m a senator and I understand how Nigeria works. For me, the most important thing is that this recall process has been stalled,” she said.
She also added,
“Even the addresses provided in the petition for my recall were false because most houses in my district weren’t labeled.”
As the political tension escalates, all eyes are now on Senator Natasha’s next move—and the potential fallout for the nation’s top legislative office.
