Dara, the estranged wife of comedian and skit maker Kehinde Ganiyu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has alleged that her ex-husband is addicted to gambling and physically assaults her at every opportunity.
In an interview with actress Biola Adebayo on Friday, Dara denied Ijoba Lande’s viral claim that she had been with 21 men. She challenged him to provide evidence, saying, “I swear I have never slept with 21 men. If he has proof, he should name them and release the video.”
Dara revealed that the comedian’s manager, Marygold, who was also her friend, was a major reason for their marital troubles. She accused Ijoba Lande of always siding with Marygold, especially when disputes arose over a monthly contribution scheme.
**“When I met Lande, I didn’t date him because of his money. People advised against our relationship, and I was even seeing someone else at the time. But Marygold convinced me to give him a chance after he showed interest in me at a party.
“He is deeply into online betting, especially aviator games. He has lost millions, even selling his car to place bets. He was always on his phone, completely ignoring me, not knowing that he was glued to gambling websites.
“I even had to collect food on credit while living with him because he didn’t take care of me. On top of that, he beat me due to his anger issues. Our problems escalated when he started defending Marygold for failing to contribute her N100,000 share of a N1 million thrift contribution. I confronted her to pay, but Lande would always tell me to leave her alone, saying she was broke.”**
Dara also stated that before she left the marriage, they had previously planned to create content about her moving out. She clarified that she did not take anything from his house when she left, adding, “Even the money for my introduction, I paid it myself. My clothes and other belongings are still in his house.”
Addressing the controversial “Truth or Dare” game that allegedly took place at actor Babatunde Tayo’s (Baba Tee) residence, Dara claimed that Marygold initiated it for reasons unknown to her.
“I was drunk and don’t fully recall what happened during the sex dare. However, I do remember sitting on Baba Tee’s legs. I regret participating in that game and being in that situation.”
Ijoba Lande had previously claimed in an interview that Dara left him after he discovered her alleged infidelity, stating that at least 21 men in the entertainment industry were involved with her. He specifically mentioned Baba Tee in a viral interview and an Instagram post.
However, Baba Tee denied the allegations, stating that he only met Dara once through Marygold last year and was unaware of her being Lande’s wife until he overheard their conversation.
In a brief Facebook post on Monday, Baba Tee publicly apologized to Lande, writing, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. How did Dara become Lande’s wife without my knowledge? Hmmm. I fear women.”
