Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Khalid delivered a deeply moving performance at WorldPride DC 2025, marking his first-ever Pride event. The R&B star, known for hits like Location and Better, took the stage at the Capitol Concert, where he was overcome with emotion, breaking down in tears as he addressed the crowd.

“This is my first time performing at Pride. This is my first time being at Pride,” Khalid told the audience, his voice shaking with emotion. “These are happy tears. I want to thank you guys so much for accepting me and supporting me. It means the world to me. It makes me so happy. I feel like I’m home here on this stage.”

Khalid’s Pride debut comes months after he publicly confirmed his sexuality in November 2024. Despite the challenges of being outed online, the singer has embraced his identity with confidence, sharing in a recent interview that he feels liberated knowing his fans continue to support him just as they always have.
