The Elephants of Ivory Coast have secured their third Africa Cup of Nations trophy after a 2-1 comeback win against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2023 final.

Nigeria took the lead through captain William Troost-Ekong, but Ivory Coast bounced back and won via second-half goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastian Haller.

With the victory, Ivory Coast secured their third AFCON title, after previous wins in 1992 and 2015.

For the Super Eagles, the loss saw them finish as AFCON silver medallists for a record 5th time.
