The rap world was abuzz with controversy after Kendrick Lamar took aim at Drake on Metro Booming and Future’s ‘Like’, reigniting their long-standing feud. In response, Drake’s hit single ‘First Person Shooter’ saw J. Cole dubbing himself, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar as the “big 3”, sparking further tension.

However, Kendrick Lamar fired back on ‘Like’, dissing Drake’s latest album ‘For All The Dogs’ and countering J. Cole’s “Big 3” claim with a “Big Me” line, excluding himself from the trio. The situation escalated as fans speculated about a brewing rap feud.

Yet, in a surprising turn of events, J. Cole publicly extended an olive branch during his 2024 Dreamville Festival performance, expressing regret for his diss toward Kendrick Lamar on ‘7 Minute Drill’.

“I am so proud of that project except for one part. It’s one part of that shit that makes me feel like that’s one of the lamest shit I have did in my fucking life,” Cole admitted, visibly remorseful.

Seeking reconciliation, J. Cole pleaded for forgiveness, acknowledging the impact of his words on Kendrick Lamar’s discography. “I pray you all forgive a nigga for the misstep,” he humbly appealed.

The rapper confessed to restless nights since the diss dropped, vowing to take the track off social media and emphasizing the importance of his hit single ‘Luv Yours’ as a reminder of his true self.
