Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the 2023 Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jandor announced his decision on Monday during a media briefing at Liberty Place, Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja, Lagos, alongside his supporters.

His return follows a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock, Abuja, last week, where undisclosed matters were discussed. Before meeting Tinubu, Jandor also held talks with several political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former military President Ibrahim Babangida, former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and 2023 SDP Presidential Candidate Adewole Adebayo.

Jandor had earlier resigned from the PDP, citing indiscipline, anti-party activities, and betrayal by the party leadership on the eve of the Lagos governorship election. He also accused the party of misleading PDP supporters with false claims of an alliance that ultimately benefited another candidate.

Before joining the PDP, Jandor was a key member of the APC and led the Lagos4Lagos Movement, advocating for internal democracy within the party. His return to the APC signals a major shift in Lagos State’s political landscape.
