Reports indicate that Abdulwahab, 24, was driving with friends from Kafin Hausa to Dutse when their vehicle lost control and somersaulted. While some of his friends are currently receiving treatment at Dutse General Hospital, Abdulwahab succumbed to his injuries.

In a statement, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Gumel, confirmed the heartbreaking news. “With a heavy heart, Governor Umar Namadi announces the passing of his beloved son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, who tragically lost his life in a ghastly motor accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road on Thursday, December 26, 2024.”

The burial rites for Abdulwahab are being held in Kafin Hausa town in accordance with Islamic traditions. He is survived by his parents, Governor Umar Namadi and his wife, along with his siblings.

This double tragedy has sent shockwaves across Jigawa State, with many residents expressing their heartfelt condolences to the governor and his family.
