Former U.S. President Joe Biden has officially begun treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer, expressing optimism about his prognosis. Speaking publicly for the first time since his diagnosis, Biden reassured reporters, stating, “The expectation is, we’re going to be able to beat this … it’s not in any organ. My bones are strong. It hasn’t penetrated, so I’m feeling good.”

Biden, 82, was diagnosed earlier this month after experiencing urinary symptoms. His medical team confirmed that the cancer had metastasized to his bones but remains hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management through modern therapies.

Surrounded by family and supporters, Biden attended a Memorial Day event in Delaware, where he honored fallen veterans and reflected on the 10th anniversary of his son Beau Biden’s passing. Despite the gravity of his diagnosis, he maintained a positive outlook, emphasizing his confidence in his treatment plan and medical team.

Political leaders across party lines have extended their support. Former President Donald Trump expressed his well wishes, stating, “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.” Vice President Kamala Harris echoed similar sentiments, calling Biden “a fighter” and praising his resilience.
