Joeboy leaves Empawa, sets up new Record Label in Partnership with Warner Music

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Joseph Akinwale popularly known as Joeboy has officially left Mr Eazi‘s EMPAWA record label after spending 5 years there.

Following his departure from EMPAWA, Joeboy has now unveiled his record label Young Legend, in a strategic dual deal with global music powerhouse, Warner Music, renowned for having industry giants like Ed Sheeran, Cardi B, Burna Boy, and Ckay.

Under this new agreement, Joeboy steps into the spotlight as Warner Music’s latest flagship artist from Africa, while also taking a role as CEO of his record label, Young Legend. Meanwhile, Deola Jaiyesimi has been tapped to assume the position of Head of the Label.

During his time at EMPAWA, the Afrobeat star released two EPs namely, Love & Light and Body, Soul & Spirit and two albums Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic and Body & Soul.

His catalogue includes a multitude of hit singles and collaborations, amassing over 2 billion cumulative streams across various digital streaming platforms.
