Jota’s Late Equaliser Saves Liverpool in 2-2 Draw Against Fulham

Diogo Jota’s last-minute equaliser earned ten-man Liverpool a dramatic 2-2 draw against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday, as both teams fought back from a goal down in a thrilling encounter.

Despite being reduced to 10 players following Andy Robertson’s red card in the 17th minute, Liverpool stayed top of the Premier League with 36 points, maintaining their position thanks to a game in hand.

Fulham took the lead in the 11th minute when Andreas Pereira scored with an acrobatic volley off a cross from Antonee Robinson. Robertson’s red card came shortly after for a challenge on Harry Wilson.

Cody Gakpo equalised for Liverpool in the 47th minute, heading in a brilliant cross from Mohamed Salah. But Fulham regained the lead in the 76th minute when Rodrigo Muniz bundled in Robinson’s cross while colliding with goalkeeper Alisson.

Liverpool pressed relentlessly and Jota found the back of the net in the 86th minute, securing a point for his side and denying Fulham a famous victory.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s title bid was dented as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Everton at the Emirates. Despite dominating possession, Arsenal couldn’t break down a resilient Everton defence, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford making several crucial saves. Arsenal remain third in the table with 30 points, one point behind Chelsea.

Newcastle United delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Leicester City at St James’ Park, with Jacob Murphy scoring a brace. Bruno Guimarães and Alexander Isak also netted for the Magpies, as Leicester’s defensive collapse after halftime saw them fall to defeat. Newcastle moved up to 11th with 23 points, while Leicester languish in 16th with 14 points.

In the final match of the day, Ipswich Town defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Molineux, with Jack Taylor scoring a dramatic winner in added time. Wolves had earlier equalised through Matheus Cunha after an own goal by Matt Doherty put Ipswich ahead. Ipswich remain 18th with 12 points, while Wolves are second from bottom with 9.
