The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has decided not to enforce its recently announced rule that would have prevented students under 18 from being admitted to universities this year.

This decision came after many people strongly objected to the new rule.

At a meeting about university admissions for 2024, there was a heated discussion about this issue.

The head of Elizade University pointed out that many 16-year-olds had already taken the JAMB exams before they heard about this new rule.

After hearing these concerns, JAMB officials changed their minds. They said they won’t apply the new age rule this year. Instead, they plan to start using it next year.
