The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked Senator Ali Ndume to step down as Chief Whip of the Senate and leave the party.

The request was made in a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The APC nominated Senator Tahir Monguno to replace Ndume.

The party’s request comes after Ndume made comments critical of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that some officials and lawmakers have difficulty accessing the President.

Ndume made these comments in interviews with BBC Hausa and Arise TV.
