The Nigeria Police Force says it has commenced a “comprehensive investigation” into the security situation that unfolded today at the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The Nigeria Police Force in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said they were aware of the situation, with the Rivers State Police Command “actively addressing the matter”.

This comes after Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara alleged that some Police officers shot live bullet at him while he was walking down to the House of Assembly complex to inspect the damage done by some hoodlums who set the building on fire.
