The House of Representatives has summoned singer and record label owner Azeez Fashola (Naira Marley), over the concerns surrounding the works and royalties due to the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The House made the resolution after a motion moved by the lawmaker representing Ikorodu federal constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson.

The lawmakers also invited Mohbad’s manager, Jiggy Adeoye, which are all part of steps to secure proper compensation for the late music sensation.

Rep. Benson in his motion called for a review of the laws on the entertainment industry and copyright, expressing concerns about the contracts and agreements that artists were often compelled to sign.

During the debate on the matter at the plenary session, the lawmakers expressed their full commitment towards ensuring proper compensation and royalties for Mohbad’s musical works.

The lawmakers also pledged to monitor the ongoing investigation into his death, which is being undertaken by the Police Force.
