Juventus Sack Thiago Motta, Appoint Igor Tudor as Replacement

Juventus have officially sacked head coach Thiago Motta following a series of poor results. The club confirmed the decision in a statement on Sunday, announcing that former player Igor Tudor will take over as the new head coach, with his first training session set for Monday, March 24.

Motta, who was appointed in June 2024, lasted just eight months in charge. During his tenure, Juventus struggled in Serie A, suffering heavy defeats to Fiorentina and Atalanta, and currently sit fifth in the league, 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan. His time at the club also saw early exits from both the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

Igor Tudor, a former Juventus defender, brings experience from coaching stints at Udinese, Hellas Verona, and Lazio. He has also previously worked as an assistant coach at Juventus. Tudor’s immediate task will be to stabilize the squad and secure a top-four finish to ensure Champions League qualification next season.
