Auwal Ahmad Dankode, an employee of NAHCO, has been rewarded for his honesty with a letter of commendation, a promotion, and a monetary reward after he returned a staggering $10,000 (approximately N16 million) that a passenger had forgotten in their seat on a flight.

It would be recall that while doing his cleaning duties on the Egypt Air MS878 aircraft at Kano airport, Dankode stumbled upon a significant amount of cash – $10,000 – and, showing exemplary honesty, he immediately surrendered it to the station manager, ensuring its safe return to its rightful owner.

Dankode’s employer, NAHCO, honored him at their headquarters in Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) and also publicly recognized his achievement on social media platform X, celebrating his exemplary honesty and integrity.

They wrote …

“Ahmed Auwal Dankode, a NAHCO employee who returned the sum of $10,000, has been commended by the company’s management.

The GMD/CEO, Mr. Indranil Gupta, praised Auwal’s honesty and integrity, noting that his actions serve as a shining example for others.

As a reward for his honesty, Auwal received a letter of commendation, a promotion, and cash gifts from NAHCO. #nahcoaviance”
