Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate Terseer Waya, popularly known as Kiddwaya, has hinted at venturing into the music industry.
In a recent post on his X account, Kiddwaya suggested that he might explore a career in music, citing his wealthy father as a potential resource to hire top artists and executives. Kiddwaya wrote, “Maybe I should enter this music business as well. Popsi is rich so we go just hire the best of everyone. Make I kuku see wetin sup.”
This comment may have been inspired by the global rise of Nigerian music and its success, a scene Kiddwaya has been close to, particularly through his friend, Afrobeats superstar Davido. Kiddwaya, the son of Nigerian businessman Terry Waya, is known for flaunting his wealth on social media, often sharing pictures that include stacks of cash.
It appears Kiddwaya is considering leveraging his family’s wealth to make a move into the music industry, although it remains unclear whether he plans to pursue a career as a music executive or step into the studio like his wealthy peer Davido.
While it may seem unlikely that the 31-year-old will become a musician, it’s not uncommon for celebrities to experiment with music, especially in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Big Brother Naija has previously produced several musical talents, including four former winners, while artists like Timi Dakolo, Omawumi, Iyanya, Chidinma, Laycon, and Efe Money also launched their music careers after appearing on reality shows.
Should Kiddwaya choose to enter the music business, he will likely face scrutiny, with critics potentially attributing any success to his family’s social status.
