Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has inaugurated the construction of a 20km rural road connecting Obajana, Uro, and Aku communities in Lokoja and Adavi local government areas.

The project, supported by the World Bank Group, aims to improve access to farms, farming communities, and markets, enhancing food security and economic growth in the state.

“This project is crucial to our administration’s development agenda,” Governor Ododo said. “Rural roads will boost agricultural production, reduce transportation costs, and increase access to social services.”

Key Benefits:

– Improved accessibility for farmers and traders

– Enhanced rural economic growth and development

– Increased food security

– Reduced vehicular traffic along Obajana road

Stakeholders, including traditional rulers and the National Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Engineer Aminu Bodinga, have commended Governor Ododo’s commitment to rural development.

The governor urged benefiting communities to take ownership of the project and warned contractors to maintain integrity and professionalism in project delivery.

This initiative aligns with Governor Ododo’s strategic plan for rural development, good governance, and transparency.
