Nigerian Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, better known as KWAM 1, has stirred the media once more with his performance of a song titled “Ganusi.”

The new song comes shortly after a major controversy surrounding his late mother’s burial. A viral video surfaced in which KWAM 1 made a provocative remark, referring to some Islamic clerics as coming to “ganusi” during the event in Ijebu Ode.

This statement quickly ignited debate online. While some defended the term, interpreting “ganusi” as simply meaning ‘to gather,’ others criticized it as a disrespectful insult aimed at the religious leaders, further escalating tensions within the Muslim community.

Amid the uproar, KWAM 1 has turned the phrase into a full musical piece, performing the “Ganusi” song at a recent event. The track, infused with his signature Fuji style, has gone viral across social media, with videos of the performance capturing widespread attention. Audiences were seen enjoying the catchy rhythm, reacting enthusiastically to the performance.
