Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has denied reports claiming he filed a lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged plans to arrest and prosecute him after his tenure.
In a statement released by the state Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Lawal Pedro, the governor’s office described the reports as baseless. “Mr. Sanwo-Olu did not sue the EFCC in any court, as he has no reason to do so,” the statement read.
With nearly three years remaining in his term, Governor Sanwo-Olu enjoys immunity and has not been investigated or contacted by the EFCC regarding any allegations.
The statement reaffirmed the governor’s commitment to integrity, prudent resource management, and service delivery in Lagos State, prioritizing the well-being of Lagosians. This clarification puts to rest speculation surrounding the alleged lawsuit.
