Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos police command, has debunked allegations that police officers accompanied Bobrisky to Ikeja City Mall on Monday, April 1.

In a statement on Twitter, Hundeyin clarified, “The policemen in that video did not come with anybody, neither did they leave with anybody. They are posted there to maintain peace, order, and security of the ICM. And that was exactly what they were doing as the situation was turning rowdy.”

“We would not wait for something untoward to happen and have Nigerians say, ‘But the police were there and did nothing. Why then were they there?’” he concluded.

Hundeyin‘s comments come after backlash from some Nigerians who wondered why Police Officers would escort Bobrisky.
