Construction of BRT infrastructure along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway is also ongoing, with development underway on the section from Doyin Orile to Mile 2.

The commissioner also noted that history was made last year with the completion and commissioning of the first phase of the 27-kilometer Red Line rail. Passenger operations commenced on October 15, 2024, and the rail line is expected to serve 500,000 passengers daily.

The initial phase of the Red Line covers 27 kilometers, stretching from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in Lagos, with eight stations at Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, and Oyingbo. It also features four vehicular overpasses, three pedestrian bridges, and integration with Ikeja, Oshodi, Yaba, and Oyingbo bus terminals.
