The Lagos State Government has reopened the Ladipo Market in Mushin, 17 days after it closed down the market for its dirty and filthy environment.
The Public Affairs Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Kadiri Folashade, in a statement, said the market was re-opened after “meeting the most essential criteria.”
She quoted the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who said that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu prioritized the issue of clean environment, public health, and safety, which informed the recent drive to enforce strict compliance with waste management best practice across markets in the state.
The Managing Director of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to environmental sustainability and public safety, particularly within markets and around business facilities, stressing that the goal is to ensure a safer and healthier business environment for buyers and sellers.
