Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has thanked Nigerians for their “unwavering dedication and chants” which “lifted us higher than ever before”.

Ahmed Musa gave the appreciation in a post on X, where he reflected on the AFCON journey where the Super Eagles fell just short in the final, losing 2-1 to hosts Ivory Coast.

Despite the loss, Ahmed Musa expressed satisfaction that “our unity on the field transcended religious and tribal differences, reminding us of the power of football to bring us together…..In a time where economic challenges weigh heavily on our shoulders, let us carry the same spirit of unity beyond the football pitch and into every aspect of our lives”.

Meanwhile, Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali described the defeat as a “frustrating end”, saying the team would take full responsibility for the loss. He, however, thanked the nation for its support throughout the tournament.
