The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has categorically denied reports circulating in the media claiming that it has released a comprehensive list of former governors under investigation for corruption.

In a press statement, the EFCC clarified that it has not issued any such list nor engaged in discussions with any media outlet regarding investigations into ex-governors.

The report, titled “EFCC Releases Full List of 58 Ex-Governors that Embezzled N2.187 Trillion,” has been deemed false and mischievous by the Commission.

The EFCC considers the purported list a fabrication intended to serve unknown motives.

The EFCC urges the public to disregard the report, emphasizing that it is both false and misleading.

The media is also advised to verify information related to ongoing investigations with the EFCC to prevent the dissemination of inaccurate reports.

This will help to prevent the spread of misinformation and maintain the integrity of the Commission’s investigations
