Liverpool delivered a statement victory with a 2-0 win over Manchester City, strengthening their position at the top of the Premier League table. The Reds took control early in the match, with Mohamed Salah breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute. The Egyptian forward capitalized on a defensive error to slot the ball past City’s goalkeeper, giving Liverpool the lead.

Dominik Szoboszlai extended the advantage just before halftime, finishing off a well-worked team move to make it 2-0. Despite Manchester City’s efforts to mount a comeback, Liverpool’s defense remained resolute, denying Pep Guardiola’s side any clear-cut chances.

The victory extends Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to 11 points, putting them in a strong position to challenge for their first Premier League title since the 2019/20 season. The result also adds pressure on City, who now face an uphill battle in the title race.
