Mohamed Salah’s penalty secured Liverpool’s return to the top of the Premier League table, defeating struggling Wolves 2-1 at Molineux.

Ibrahima Konate’s first Premier League goal gave Liverpool the lead in first-half injury time, but Rayan Ait-Nouri equalized for Wolves in the 56th minute.

Salah’s spot kick, awarded after Nelson Semedo fouled Diogo Jota, restored Liverpool’s advantage just five minutes later, sealing the win.

The victory capitalizes on Manchester City’s draw at Newcastle, moving Liverpool above Arsenal to reclaim top spot. Wolves remain bottom, unable to convert promising performances into victories.

Liverpool demonstrated resilience in a hard-fought win, overcoming Wolves’ enthusiastic start and nervous defensive moments.

Despite missed chances, including Dominik Szoboszlai’s saved effort and Salah’s snapshot wide of an open goal, Liverpool’s determination paid off.

The win solidifies Liverpool’s position, while Wolves continue to search for their first win of the season.
