A viral video circulating on social media has sparked widespread debate and calls for action after a man was allegedly seen disrespecting the Nigerian currency, the Naira, while openly challenging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest him.

The footage, which surfaced online over the weekend, reportedly shows the individual engaging in acts that violate Section 21 (3) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act 2007, which prohibits the spraying, dancing on, or defacing of the Naira. The EFCC has previously warned against such actions and has taken enforcement measures against individuals found guilty of currency abuse.

Public reaction to the video has been swift, with many Nigerians taking to social media to demand accountability. Some have accused the EFCC of selective enforcement, citing past cases where celebrities and high-profile individuals were prosecuted for similar offenses.

In response to the growing controversy, the EFCC issued a statement on its official social media channels, reaffirming its commitment to upholding the law. “Nobody is above the law. The individual in question will have questions to answer,” the agency stated.
