Manchester City wins Community Shield with 7-6 penalty victory vs Man United

Manchester City claimed the Community Shield title after a nail-biting encounter with Manchester United, winning 7-6 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regular time.

The match was characterized by a dramatic finale, with Alejandro Garnacho breaking the deadlock for Manchester United in the 82nd minute.

However, Bernardo Silva equalized for Manchester City just seven minutes later, forcing the contest into a penalty shootout.

In the decisive shootout, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and Jonny Evans failed to convert their penalties, while Manuel Akanji stepped up to score the winning penalty for Manchester City, sealing their victory.
