Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes, 26, was detained in Madrid on September 8, suspected of stealing a mobile phone.

According to El Mundo and Dailymail, Nunes was arrested at La Riviera nightclub around 5:30 a.m. after a 58-year-old man alleged Nunes took his phone without permission in the restroom.

The incident occurred when the man attempted to photograph Nunes. Nunes allegedly refused to return the phone, leading to police involvement.

Officers found the phone in Nunes’ possession and took him to a local police station for questioning.

Neither Manchester City nor Nunes’ representatives have commented.

Note: Nunes has not been formally charged or convicted. The investigation is ongoing.
