Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb Suffers Severe Injury Ahead of New Season

Manchester City’s hopes of securing a record-extending fifth successive Premier League title have been dealt a significant blow with the news that Oscar Bobb has suffered a severe injury just days before the start of the new season.

The 21-year-old winger was expected to play a crucial role in Pep Guardiola’s plans, but a fractured bone in his leg will keep him out of action for several months.

Bobb had impressed during pre-season and was set to be one of Guardiola’s go-to options on the right wing.

He had made a positive impact in cameo appearances last season, including scoring a last-gasp winner against Newcastle in January.

His absence will be deeply felt, particularly with the departure of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.

New signing Savio is now likely to be Guardiola’s primary option on the right wing, although Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku can also play in that position.

However, Bobb’s injury may prompt City to enter the market for a new attacker to bolster their squad.

City will begin their Premier League title defense with a potentially tricky trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday, August 18.

The team will be hoping to overcome the loss of Bobb and secure a positive start to the season.
