Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford, marking just one win in their last six Premier League games. This loss followed a midweek victory over Southampton, but the team failed to maintain momentum.

Brighton took an early lead in the 5th minute when Yankuba Minteh converted Kaoru Mitoma’s cross. United leveled the score through a Bruno Fernandes penalty after Joshua Zirkzee was fouled by Carlos Baleba.

In the 60th minute, Mitoma struck again from Minteh’s assist, becoming the highest-scoring Japanese player in Premier League history. The match was sealed in the 76th minute when an error by Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana allowed Giorgino Rutter to score into an open net.

The defeat drops United to 13th place, while Brighton climbs to 9th, edging closer to European qualification.
