Manchester United stormed into the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals with a dominant 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad in the Round of 16 second leg, sealing a 5-2 aggregate win.
The match started with an early setback for United as Mikel Oyarzabal converted a penalty in the 10th minute to give Real Sociedad the lead. However, Bruno Fernandes quickly responded, equalizing from the spot just six minutes later. The Portuguese midfielder went on to complete a stunning hat-trick, adding two more goals in the 51st and 87th minutes. Diogo Dalot put the game beyond doubt with a stoppage-time strike.
Real Sociedad’s hopes of a comeback were further dashed when Jon Aramburu was sent off in the 63rd minute for a reckless challenge on Patrick Dorgu.
With this emphatic win, United have now set up a quarter-final clash against Lyon.
