The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, conducted an inspection of two major infrastructure projects in Abuja: the ongoing extension of Obafemi Awolowo Way (N5) from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III, and the rehabilitation of the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC).

The extension of Obafemi Awolowo Way, being executed by Julius Berger, is a critical project aimed at improving connectivity and easing traffic congestion in the FCT. Minister Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project and commended the contractors for their commitment to delivering quality work within the stipulated timeline.

During his visit to the Abuja International Conference Centre, Wike highlighted the significance of the renovation, noting that the facility had not received a facelift since its construction in 1991. He praised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership for prioritizing the rehabilitation of the centre, ensuring it meets international standards.

“These projects are a testament to the renewed hope agenda, and we’re thrilled to see them come to fruition,” Wike stated. He reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s dedication to infrastructure development, emphasizing that several projects would be inaugurated as part of celebrations marking President Tinubu’s second year in office.
