In a recent statement, Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, addressed circulating claims regarding his involvement in his son’s medical treatment and the conditions surrounding a proposed DNA test.

Aloba clarified that he had never met the auxiliary nurse who reportedly treated his son, nor did he instruct anyone to permit her departure from the premises.

He emphasized that he did not set any conditions for a DNA test, nor did he sign or authorize any documents pertaining to such a test. Aloba assured the public of his commitment to transparency, stating he would not undertake any actions without informing the general public.

This statement comes amidst ongoing discussions about the circumstances of Mohbad’s death and the subsequent events involving his family. Previously, reports suggested that Aloba insisted on a DNA test to confirm the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam, which Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi, agreed to in order to dispel rumors.

Additionally, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Lagos State Council, confirmed that the individual arrested in connection with administering an injection to Mohbad was not a licensed nurse.

Aloba’s recent clarifications aim to address and correct misinformation surrounding these sensitive issues.
