Omowunmi, the widow of late Afrobeats star Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of obstructing the DNA test ordered to resolve the paternity dispute over her son, Liam.

Omowunmi’s lawyers, Salawu Akingbolu Chambers, alleged that Mr. Aloba rejected the medical facilities she proposed, including Lagoon Hospitals, after she declined his suggestion of UCH Ibadan. As a compromise, she proposed Eko Hospital and Reddington Hospital, but claimed Aloba failed to respond.

The disagreement persists despite a Magistrates Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, directing both parties to agree on a facility for the DNA test under supervision. Frustrated by the delay, Omowunmi has threatened to proceed unilaterally if no progress is made.

Her legal team also refuted claims by Aloba’s former counsel, Mr. Taiwo Odumosu, alleging on social media that Omowunmi was uncooperative. They demanded an apology for what they described as a misrepresentation.

In response, Aloba’s legal team, Hillceetee Partners, denied the allegations, clarifying that Odumosu’s comments were misinterpreted and no accusations were made against Omowunmi’s readiness for the DNA test.

The legal team announced their withdrawal from representing Aloba in the case, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing dispute.
