Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested Adura, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. He was taken into custody on Wednesday at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos, alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, aka King White. The arrest occurred shortly after they attended a legal proceeding regarding a phone Adura allegedly sold to one Damola Ayinde.
Adura’s arrest follows a previous controversy involving actor Yomi Fabiyi, who accused him of demanding ₦3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for video evidence related to Mohbad’s death. Fabiyi had filed a petition on December 13, 2024, claiming Adura initiated an Instagram chat making these demands. However, Adura denied the allegations, insisting the messages originated from Ayinde, the buyer of his phone.
In December, Adura had demanded a public apology from Fabiyi and others, alleging they hacked his TikTok account to tarnish his reputation. A forensic investigation was conducted, and the court is still probing the case.
Following his arrest, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, broke down in tears in a viral video, pleading for help. Speaking in Yoruba, she accused Fabiyi and another individual, Sam Jojo, of orchestrating her son’s detention.
“Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you,” she cried.
A family member, speaking anonymously, suggested the arrest might be linked to a heated exchange between Koleosho and Fabiyi. “We don’t know Adura’s whereabouts, but Koleosho was arrested after the court proceedings. Everything happened suddenly. We heard there was an argument between Koleosho and Fabiyi regarding the phone, which may have led to the arrest. We are trying to find out where they have been taken.”
