Popular comedian and actor Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has shared a deeply personal story about his financial struggles, urging people to remain resilient in the face of challenges. In an emotional social media post, he revealed how he lost all his savings between 2021 and 2022 due to a scam and a failed investment, leaving him in massive debt.
Mr Macaroni disclosed that despite the financial setback, he kept his struggles private, continuing to entertain and support others while battling his own burdens. “If you know me well enough, you would know I do not like to share my problems. I could be going through the worst and at the same time helping others solve their own problems, but I just would never share mine,” he wrote.
The comedian admitted to making poor financial decisions, including borrowing money to cover commitments, only to find himself trapped in a cycle of repaying interest. “I make money in millions, so I never thought borrowing money to pay back with interest could ever be a problem. But I got too comfortable and it took me a long time to realize that I was using the money I was earning to pay back interests,” he explained, cautioning his followers about the dangers of debt.
Beyond financial woes, Mr Macaroni also opened up about betrayal by someone he deeply trusted, an experience that left him completely destabilized. Despite these hardships, he emphasized his fighting spirit, stating, “One thing about me is that I’m a warrior! I have never backed down from a fight. When I fall, I bounce back even stronger by God’s grace and I keep my head up.”
He credited his recovery to tough decisions, family support, and personal growth, noting that he now feels better than he has in the past three years. Encouraging his followers, he wrote, “This letter of love is for my people going through whatever. Please DO NOT GIVE UP! People will betray you, but you must not let that derail you. You are alive for a reason, and every day of your life, you must fight to be a better person than you were yesterday.”
With his story, Mr Macaroni hopes to inspire resilience, accountability, and smarter decision-making, reminding everyone that while mistakes are part of life, learning and growing from them is what truly matters.
You all know I never bring my personal issues to social media.
I only wish to share this with my community because I want people to learn from my experience. Also a part of me won’t rest until i publicly thank God for his grace; therefore I feel obliged to do this.Sometime…
