MTN Nigeria has sparked mixed reactions after issuing a press statement addressing the recent 200% increase in data tariffs.

The controversy began when Nigerians discovered that the price for a 15GB data plan had jumped from N2,000 to N6,000, leading to widespread outrage on social media.

In response, MTN took to its official X page to acknowledge the frustration and apologize for the sudden hike. However, the telecom giant did not confirm whether the data price would be reviewed.

In a casual and apologetic tone, MTN admitted its mistake, urging subscribers to “forgive and forget” while emphasizing its commitment to customer satisfaction.

Despite the apology, many Nigerians remain dissatisfied, demanding a reversal of the price hike.
