Efecan Kültür, a popular 24-year-old Turkish TikTok personality known for his extreme-eating ‘mukbang’ videos, has passed away due to complications from obesity.

Kültür had been battling severe health issues before his death on March 7, 2025. Reports indicate that he was hospitalized for three months, struggling with breathing difficulties and mobility issues that ultimately left him bedridden.

The social media star gained a large following by posting videos of himself consuming massive quantities of food while interacting with his audience. However, his declining health had become evident in recent months.

His passing has sparked discussions about the potential dangers of mukbang culture and excessive food consumption for entertainment. In response, Turkish authorities are now considering legislation to regulate social media usage, particularly among minors, to prevent harmful trends from influencing younger audiences.
