Senator Shehu Sani and Hadiza El-Rufai, former First Lady of Kaduna State, have engaged in a public spat on social media platform X.
The dispute began when Senator Sani posted a comment about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s international travels, suggesting they lead to increased taxes and prices. He wrote: “New law of economics; When the President travels out, Taxes and Prices goes up.”
Mrs. El-Rufai, known for correcting grammatical errors, swiftly pointed out the mistake, advising Sani to use “go up” instead of “goes up.”
In response, Senator Sani addressed Mrs. El-Rufai as “mummy” and asked her to leave him alone, stating: “I unfollowed you and you unfollowed me. And you still de hang around me. Mummy, leave me alone abeg.”
This exchange reignites the long-standing tension between Senator Sani and the El-Rufai family, which dates back to 2019.
