The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has sacked Abdullahi Sule as the Nasarawa State governor, and has declared David Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party as the duly elected governor.

The tribunal in a 2-1 judgment led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdrawal the certificate of return given to Governor Sule and issue to Ombugadu.

However,  Justice Ibrahim Mashi read a dissenting judgment, and ruled that Governor Sule duly won the election.
