Following his announcement of dissociating from The Honest Bunch Podcast, media personality Nedu has addressed the controversy surrounding his departure in a press conference. This comes after social media activist VeryDarkMan accused him of engaging in alleged illicit activities linked to the podcast.

During the press briefing, Nedu emphasized that his decision to leave was personal and not due to any form of dismissal. He rejected the idea of censoring guests on the show, stressing that professional ethics demand that every guest be allowed to express their opinions freely.

“Any conversation that surrounds, oh, as the guest is talking, you have to stop the guest so that the guest does not say some things, for me, it’s not professional, and I don’t do that. If you’re a radio host or a TV host, you will understand that,” he said.

He also clarified that no personal relationship should be used to pressure him into silencing guests, reiterating that opinions expressed on the show belong to the guests, not the podcast itself.

“I am not one to indulge in petty exchanges of words. That’s not who I am. That’s never been my style. It will never be my style to chat words with people on social media. I am not going to do that,” he added.

Addressing speculation about his exit, Nedu firmly stated, “I was not fired from Honest Bunch. I decided to stay away when the attacks became very personal, so that the show can go on and stand up.”

He also defended his role as a host, explaining that his job was to play the “devil’s advocate” and ask difficult questions that spark meaningful discussions.

“My job is to ask the hard questions. That is my job. And it’s also my job to make statements that most of whom I really think, but you can’t say it. That is my job. And if for nothing, it has encouraged conversations, hard conversations that people don’t want to have,” he said.

Nedu concluded the press conference by handing over to his management team to address legal issues related to the allegations circulating online.
